To celebrate our Write 6×6 Anniversary, let’s make a cake full of purpose, intentionality and full of flavor! As some may know, one of my hobbies is baking. In previous posts, I have also shared how this creates connections within my family and gives me a joy and happiness. If my work could be a recipe, the ingredients would be:
Flour – Our Purpose- Our Students
The foundation everything else is built on; without it, nothing holds together.
Eggs – Shared Governance and Collaboration/Partnerships
They bind the ingredients, creating cohesion and structure across our work.
Butter – Respect for People
Adds richness and depth; this is what makes the work we do blend together and not get dry or boring.
Sugar – Context and Community
Brings balance and care, ensuring the outcome is inviting and welcoming for everyone.
Baking powder – Pragmatic Problem-Solving
Helps ideas rise and turn plans into action.
Salt – Compliance and Integrity
Subtle but essential; without it, the result falls flat or fails entirely.
Milk – Role and Organizational Structure Clarity
Smooths the mix so processes work together instead of clumping.
Vanilla – Leadership
Noticed when it’s missing.
Lemon or Orange Zest (optional) – Data-informed judgment
Adds nuance and depth without overpowering the core flavor.
So clever, Lore! Also…. when are you bringing that brilliant strawberry cheesecake to share with your colleagues?? 😉
